FIVE FUN TRENDS

A FEW YEARS BACK…I WORTE A POST ENTITLED :

 “IS CHEVRON DEAD“..

…and, I spoke about TRENDS, specifically decorating Trends…

DICTIONARY.COM defines Trend as:

noun

1.the general course or prevailing tendency; drift

2.style or vogue:

What makes a TREND? . ..and which ones ARE IN? AND WHICH ARE on their way out?

**************************

I HAVE NOTICED THAT Home Decorators are clinging less and less to TRENDS

and exploring what THEY like.

HERE IS MY PERSONAL LIST OF 5 – THINGS THAT I HAVE NOTICED HOMEOWNERS ARE GRAVITATING TOWARD….

Many of these things are not so much trends…as they are things that have always been around and are becoming more POPULAR…oh wait…THAT IS a TREND!!!

MONDAY MORNING

I HAVE ALWAYS SHIED AWAY FROM POLITICAL DISCUSSIONS.

Partly because I tend to shy away from conflict and hot button topics and partly because I felt uneducated on politics and truth be told do not like speaking about things I know nothing about. I have tried to educate myself over the years…but I think I still lag behind. Continue reading

PORTRAIT OF BEAN

We got BEAN two Christmases ago, in a weak moment, after our beloved dog –  disappeared. According to the DNA test, he is half Beagle and half “lab mix” .

But one thing is for certain, he is 100% scamp!!!

He doesn’t mean to be naughty….

15 Do’s & Don’ts of Texting- Unwritten Rules of New-Age Communication

ME AND MY MILLENNIALS

We are back to the “NEW NORMAL”. The College kids are back to their College homes and their College lives and the youngest is once again – an “only”. The house is quiet, and it will take a week or so to find where I left off mid-December but it was all worth it. THE BREAK WAS JUST LONG ENOUGH  to lull me into feeling as if they lived here once again. We had even begun to get into some semblance of a rhythm and then BAM – game over. So I plug away.

COMING IN FEBRUARY – A DOG PAINTING A DAY

I LOVE DOGS

I LOVE PAINTING

Last fall I made the VERY difficult decision to stop taking commission work. I have LOVED painting custom pet portraits and plan to return to them in the future but I need to devote my painting time to my original painting to continue growing as an ARTIST.

IMITATION GAME AND MY ENTRYWAY

YESTERDAY I EXPERIENCED SOME TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES…SO, I spent all day…in between
everything, having my hair highlighted, cleaning behind the dryer – THATS where all the socks go!)
giving Bean a bath  – In between I was trying to fix things…but it was tricky because I in no way
remember messing them up.
What happened was that all of a sudden yesterday….my home page was squashed up into the
Header (top of blog design) and became unreadable. YES – in the BIG PICTURE this fell below a
splinter in my foot…but it still CONSUMED ME!
THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT I FIXED IT! AND I HAD A HUGE EPIPHANY IN THE PROCESS!!
Have you seen the movie
“During World War II, mathematician Alan Turing tries to crack the enigma code with help from fellow mathematicians.”

THE IMITATION GAME

(if you haven’t seen the movie this is a spoiler alert)

WELL, fixing the glitch in my computer was similar to breaking the code in the Movie and REAL LIFE because the movie is a based on a true story. I don;t know if many of you have worked with “code” but it truly is a different language. BUT embedded in codes are REAL WORDS and symbols you would recognize and how I fixed the glitch was to find words I recognized and then trace them back to the source of the problem. After HOURS of sleuthing I discovered that in addition to the blog being wonky that the ICON below – was gone!
