TRIM TRENDS

Most of the trim in My Old Country House is painted

Mountain Peak Whire

Benjamin Moore Mountain Peak White.

I originally chose this color after I read about it on Maria Killam’s Blog “COLOUR ME HAPPY”….which by the way if you have not yet consulted this blog with your color questions and decisionAL dilemmas…you really must…she knows her stuff like NO BODYS business…undertones, backward and forward…she knows COLOR.

so back to trim…lately I have noticed that trim is expanding its horizons, no longer relegated to the “contrasting whites” but seems nearly anything goes!!!

I will go on record saying I am not a fan of plain wood trim…but in the right setting…it can be gorgeous…and perfect..

  1. Hi Leslie,
I am new to your blog and I love your home. We live in a farmhouse that is 101 years old. The trim has been redone in our house and we have opted not to paint it for now, mainly because it’s such a huge task. It is white in the kitchen and upstairs but everywhere else it’s wood. Every time I see white trim, I kind of sigh and think how much I want it but for now it is staying. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I’m loving all the black trim I have been seeing everywhere lately. Surprisingly it makes walls pop. Have a great week!
