I’m Dreaming Of A White Kitchen

Love the gray!!!!and these floors are to die for!

The NEW cabinet doors are being painted and if all goes according to plan, they should be delivered next week.

The Subway tile backsplash is on my list…

I bought the paint for the “boxes today. I agonized over the decision and finally arrived at “BM Mountain Peak White” OC121. My buddy at the paint store suggested I use Oil based Satin, to paint the cabinet bodies.

The doors are being painted with oil as well and then with layers with a satin varnish to preserve the life of the cabinets.

When I look at my pitiful kitchen now, I still have a hard time picturing it looking snazzy in any way, but I know it will.

so sad…

I have been dreaming of this upgrade for years. Will it look this good?

Budget constraints make this project a long term project, but each step… is a step in the right direction. The next phase is going to be a big one, as so many layers of this process rely upon other steps being done in conjunction. We will be replacing the counter tops, installing the backsplash, getting a new sink and stove. The final step will be the floor. I need to do more homework on the floor.

Right now I am leaning toward either a brick floor of sorts or simply small hexagon tile, unglazed, with a border of some kind and maybe a pattern.

Then Lighting…

Next quandary – lighting? Pendant over the sink? and I am leaning toward modernizing the room with a large drum shade in the center..
I need a snack..
