HELLO!!!!
IM BACK!!!
It has been a while – has it not? Months. and what feels like years.
The deal I had made with myself was “DON’T write anything – until you have something to say. ”
This is pretty much my school of thought with regards to “speaking” as well – though, if you ask my children, I use far more words than needed to say the smallest of things. Anyway.

I’m back and I am ready to share my life with you – in bits and pieces and while it is tempting to spill my guts and share every nook and cranny of where I’ve been and what I’ve done – and experienced – and learned – I am just choosing to start – right back where all of this began – with my house.
MANY THINGS ARE ON THE HORIZON and by that I mean – Makeovers that are happening now and others that are coming soon.
The first BIG makeover is going to be a wall in my LIVING ROOM.

This wall is just one of those BIG WALLS. That place we all have that we KNOW could be so much more – but that – in the big scheme of things – is not life changing – and is not in a place in your house that will even been noticed much. (Except when you drag guests in there and ask “So…what do you think of this big wall?” )

The wall is located in our FIRST LIVING ROOM as you enter the house, . When we had the big photo shoot of the house last summer – I removed the TV from the room and replaced it with a GIANT (50 x 60) piece of beautiful ART. I hope to still replace the art, but plan to do some rearranging of furniture in the room to bring more focus to the wall. I also plan to paint the wall a BEAUTIFUL Faded Navy Blue – inspired by a wall at the Georgetown Anthropologie store .
But the navy is beautiful and after UMTEEN samples – I feel pretty confident is going to do the trick and breathe new life back into

For a while I just couldn’t pin point the look I wanted – I just knew how I wanted it to feel. I have learned to just ride it out until I either see an example which helps me to envision the change or inspiration comes. Finally – over the weekend , while we were in DC for the Marine Corps Marathon (my son ran his first and finished!) – I saw THE COLOR AND THE LOOK AND FEEL I WANT in the Anthropologie store!

So off I go. I have a few color choices and think I have narrowed it DOWN now. I plan to decide tomorrow and paint this week so next Monday – you will see the finished Wall!!!

Kathy
p.s. thank you for not spilling your guts on the blog or Insta – so refreshing!
You are going to love the navy wall! We just did our hall bath in Sherman Williams Dress Blues. It’s gorgeous against the white fixtures and tile. I love the borrowed painting. Am I seeing a change in design style? Glad you are back, I’ve missed your postings.
I’m in love with dark color paint recently, that faded navy color looks great!
