  1. Happy birthday..almost! We have just decided to paint our cabinets ahead of our move. I want black on the lowers and white on the uppers.
I have not been to Rehoboth in many years. My family used to rent a big old beach house when I was little. It has really changed in recent years but I think there are good restaurants to be had. I can’t say the same for OC, just a bit further south though.

  2. I also like kitchens with low darker cabinets, although my cabinets are all the same color. I decided I’m gonna ask you a question that you can answer me I’m sure. This is something is “bothering” me for not knowing the answer.
When I see pictures or movies with american kitchens (as some of those you show us on your post today) they have the cook and above the cook there is the microwave – there is no chimney or other appliance to expel the smoke. Is that correct? Does it work that way? Sorry for bothering and thank you in advance for your time. XOXO

        1. My microwave has a fan that sucks out any smoke or steam. The fan has a metal filter over it which I run through the dishwasher once a week to remove any grease or dust build-up.

  3. I love the lower cabinets in the first picture. Can you tell me what colour that is? I want to paint my cupboards and knowing how much work it is I really want to get the colour right this time? Thanks. I love your blog!

  4. I love color when I see it in someone’s home but whenever I try it I end up changing it. I tried a dark green on the walls in our master bedroom thinking it would look gorgeous with the bedroom furniture my husband handmade. What a hassle painting over it……primer and painting again. it’s happened several times since in different rooms. Knowing my history I just went with basic white shaker cabinets in my kitchen when we renovated it. We are very budget conscience so I went with a classic. When I look at home decor magazines I am always drawn to the rooms with color. Why can’t I live with it then??? I sure could use an answer to that.
