After a year …like the year we all have experienced – it seemed insane to add onto that pile with a house sale…but hey, I’m always up for a challenge and some might say – “I live for a challenge!”
Plus – I hear It’s a “seller’s market”
and all that.
Truth be told – I will never truly be ready to leave this house – but it IS time for us to move, something smaller – less echoey and reminiscent of our life with the kids here – something we can make fit the next chapter – whatever that amounts to be. I mean – I think it is odd to make plans after having had a year of “living on hold” – nothing feels natural, more like I’m acting out the role of “person with a busy life” – but in truth, my social life consists of one husband, a daughter still home and a whole lots of pets. But I’m hopelessly hopeful that life will begin to blossom once more and I’d love to have a place to make a fresh start.
If you have ever moved, or cleaned out a desk, you know how much nonsense is involved. Just SO MUCH STUFF!!! We “Marie Kondo-ed” the hell out of this house and thus came up with Bags and bags to donate, and sell and throw away. SO MUCH STUFF. THAT and when the kids bugged out of their respective homes to relocate here for the duration of the Pandemic – they brought with them their STUFF. So we filled a “Pod” – in all fairness – 50% is my ARTwork storage, took a lot to storage, put a ton on the curb, and watched car after car fill their trunks with goodies (That always makes me so happy).
Then we cleaned, and painted, and took down dead trees (the poor Ash trees) fixed windows, and did things we have needed to do for years – and the house looks and feels amazing.
