THURSDAY COMBO
NAVY AND PINK
Navy is tricky. There are the those that are very BLUE
and the ones…and some are darker…and more gray.
Here is a funny story which highlights how OBSESSED I am with Navys right now:
a few weeks ago…I went into the Jonathan Adler store on Newbury Street in Boston…
…a total drool fest…
and they had a “ROOM” with an accent wall painted the most beautiful Navy.
I said to the person who worked there…
“I bet you I can guess the name of that Navy!”
She said, ….”if you can guess I will give you something Free!”

I love Jonathan Adler too. I’ll take one of everything please. That is amazing that you were so close to guessing the color. The pink and navy combo is so pretty!

You painted the stripe – it looks nice.
Are your rooms roomy? Do you think dark colors work best in larger rooms?
My old small 2-over-2 farmhouse has very low ceilings, and instead of cozy, I think dark colors would feel cramped. There are lots of windows, yet lighter colors keep pulling me. I like how you did the dark background in the hutch.
Side question, did you paint your stair backs, or were they like that already? I know Lori from Frugal Farmhouse paints wood floors, but haven’t been sure of the practicality. Do you like your stairs like that?
Well, I have to say that I haven’t done navy. Why you ask? Because when I was little, my grandmother and mother both gravitated to navy and other shades of blue. For some reason, they couldn’t get out of the habit of buying clothes in those shades and color even though they kept wanting to break free from it. So guess who did… yup, me! I was the one who wanted yellows and oranges. Oh, I did have my moment of blue with chartreuse but otherwise bring on the sunshine!!
