WEDNESDAY WHAT I WORE – VACATION STYLE

Today is the

first OFFICIAL WEDNESDAY “WHAT I WORE” POST.

meandphoebeselfie

I was inspired by Lindsay at THE PLEATED POPPY, and her committment to “push myself to get dressed every day”…. and additionally fueled by MY desire to structure my days better, just because I work from home does not mean I need to stay in quasi jammies all day! getting dressed  – Not to toot my own horn – but I have pulled off the

“WEAR WORKOUT CLOTHES FOR CLOTHES STYLE”-

FOR years which  BY THE WAY does not carry the prerequisite of

ACTUAL WORKING OUT. But I digress…..

*********************************************************************

I swear,

Vacation comes with additional hours on the clock. Time to shower. Work Out, blow dry my hair. I wore make up every day, no biggie except I cannot remember the last time I wore makeup in my REAL life). Packing,  I had no idea what people in California wore? Is it hot? Cool? Dressy…bright colors, jeans, shorts…very important questions and my excuse for over packing.

P.S. MY INTENTION is to get a little creative with my photos, draw mustaches and funny hair-dos but today…you get just me..in my travel wear, as photographed by me..in my hotel mirrors!

Here is what I discovered.

in LA – anything goes, but I was most comfortable in my long skirts, tunics with leggings, very light layers, I think I wore my light asymmetrical sweater every day.

SANTAMONICA
WALKING AROUND SANTA MONICA, SHOPPING, ETC DAY INTO NIGHT

 SHIRT- J Crew Factory

LEGGINGS – Duck Beach store

SHOES – Tory Burch Slides

SAN DIEGO zoo
SAN DIEGO zoo (I have no idea why I am holding my belly like I am pregnant…I think I must be holding my purse?) Which while we are on the topic, this little bag, the Tory Burch Bag my hubby gave me for Mother’s Day –  went EVERYWHERE. It was the perfect size. I also carried a little cloth bag to toss sunscreen, extra shoes, bandaids, shopping acquisitions etc)

SHIRT – Anthropologie

SHORTS – J Crew

SHOES – FIT FLOPS

(when the sun when down the sweater came out)

FOX STUDIOS, BEVERLY HILLS, DINNER WITH FRIENDS
FOX STUDIOS, BEVERLY HILLS, DINNER WITH FRIENDS

SHIRT – Francesca

TEE – Forever 21

SKIRT – Santa Monica Boutique

SHOES – Tory Burch

This was one of my favorite days…kind of a BUCKET LIST day. We began with a personal tour of FOX STUDIOS (they do not do them for the public) which began with lunch in the commissary ( a whole post coming on that) , then we hoofed it down Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive (30 minutes was all we needed for that), then we bopped on over to see the stars on the Walk of Fame (Strange, surreal…I  stepped right out of CVS right onto My Idol – Mary Tyler Moore’s Star)and finally we met two of my best College friends for dinner. Bucket list.

MYBIRTHDAY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

SHIRT – J CREW (awesome sale!)

SHORTS – J CREW

SHOES – FIT FLOPS

LATER AS WE DROVE NORTH, and the temps dropped, I pulled out my Forvever 21 jeans (SALE – $7.80 a pair…I bought 4 pair!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME…. My birthday was the day we took Route 1 or maybe it was HWY 1, but basically we drove up the coast from Los Angeles to San Francisco…the drive, estimated by MAPQUEST to be 6 hours and 3 minutes, took us 11 hours and an unBearable number of minutes…but we made numerous stops in awe of the natural beauty. I wished that I had 6 days to do this drive…it could have made this city girl a camper…the NATURAL beauty was unlike any I have ever seen.

NEXT week: I LEFT MY HEART IN SAN FRANCISCO AND MY SUNGLASSES ON THE BUS!

I WILL STOP HERE, because my laptop is not uploading photos faster than it takes to clean my whole house and Tate’s Birthday os tomorrow and I gotta go  birthday Shopping!!!! More “WHAT I WORE” to come. If you would like to link up your ‘WHAT I WORE” VISIT

THE PLEATED POPPY!

  1. From a SoCal girl your choices were perfect. Sometimes I cannot tell if it is you or your daughter (I am sure she won’t like that) Hwy1 to Californians is like the Hana Highway is to Hawaiians….something to do once and then take 101 for future trips but it is something you must do if you come to California…hope you were able to spend some time in my hometown of Monterey/Carmel/Pacific Grove. Fun to see your trip so thanks for sharing.
