SO for whatever reason, You need to change the drain in your sink
I used to think that once a drain was IN..that was it…but I recently learned, while swapping out the kids vanities… that pretty much , like Abby Miller on Dance Moms says… “Everything is replaceable!”
This connects to the thing that pull up to plug the drain, or open it up…Once you unhook this,
it will just come out and you can hold it in your hand like this:
NOW, while you may not have the luxury of laying your sink out on a bed…
….this is what it might look like if you could:
See the gold part with the two hoses?
and then follow it down and see that BIG GOLD NUT…below the hole that looks like it is saying “OH!” ….. well you have to loosen that and as you unscrew it will unscrew from the top part… I discovered a new product called “Plumbers Putty” …It is STICKY…but not permanently so, AND it repels water so It is perfect for adhering this to that and so on and so forth….you will need to ut it here, to put the piece back on ( I Kind of rolled it like a tiny worm and then made a circle)…I then lay the other part on top.then it screws in and VOILA!!!
you will also need to put it here, at the mouth of the drain, which I forgot to take a picture of…
and THAT is your plumbing lesson for the day…under the class of
THINGS THAT ARE NOT BRAIN SURGERY……
TOMORROW, I WILL SHOW YOU THE BATHROOM FLOOR!!!! WHO HOO!!!!
When I had painters in to do a huge job – they used plumbers putty for filling holes in sheet rock. Easier to use and paints over well.
