Our animals are a part of our family. All of our cats and one of our dogs are Rescues…friends we have brought home from the CHARLOTTESVILLE ALEBMARLE SPCA.
(Charlie was rescued at he soccer field! but it was I who needed the saving in that instance…)
The Charlottesville SPCA is a no-kill shelter whose mission is to care for and connect animals with good homes where humans and pets can build a life together. Much of the work that happens there is done by volunteers with huge hearts work tirelessly to tend the pets in their care. Once a year the SPCA hosts a huge fundraiser…and this years looks to be a DOOZY!!!
(FROM THE SPCA SITE) “The 2014 Critter Ball promises to be an evening of (fun)draising as we once again present our own version of the beloved 2001 mockumentary Best in Show. Check out our six local celebrities who are hard at work preparing their pets for their 15 minutes of fame on the Critter Ball catwalk.”
“While skill, adorableness and talent all matter, the 2014 Best in Show champion will be the team that raises the most dollar donation votes for the animals at the SPCA! Show your support by voting HERE”
So much work has gone into this event…and it is hard to believe that it is ALREADY almost here! In January I was asked to be a part of the endeavor. I knew that somehow, some way, all of my experience painting animals would come in handy and sure enough…it has!!!
I was enlisted to paint 36 – 6″ x 6″ paintings of Dogs and Cats – one for each table – which will decorate each of the 36 table and then be raffled off.
AND HERE is a sneak peek!!!
I promise to share all the paintings with you FRIDAY…but what I thought might be fun is
for YOU GUYS TO NAME one of them….
AND THIS IS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO:
FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM AND LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW WITH A NAME FOR THIS DOG . THE NAMES WILL BE PUT INTO A HAT

AND DRAWN from…
AND I WILL SHARE THE NAME WITH YOU NEXT MONDAY SEPTEMBER 22!!!
