EVER SINCE I STARTED PLANNING COOPER’S BEDROOM MAKEOVER… IT SEEMS..EVERYWHERE I LOOK I SEE….

BLACK TRIM ON WINDOWS…AND BIG WINDOWS WITH LOTS OF PANES OF GLASS!
Not This is not to say that this is NEW…it is just that I am seeing it now…LIKE WHEN YOU LEARN A WORD…and then you hear it everywhere you go!

I have contemplated doing some black panes in Cooper’s room…but I am just not sure yet…IT COULD LOOK REALLY COOL!!! And we have talked about getting new windows soon so maybe I could just have fun with it!

I THINK IT IS FASCINATING..THE PSYCHOLOGY BEHIND WHY WE LIKE WHAT WE LIKE…HOW SOMETHING WILL PASS UN-NOTICED FOR YEARS AND THEN…YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH IT…AND THAT IS WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE…I AM FALLING IN LOVE WITH THE MONOCHROMATIC LOOK….

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THIS “LOOK” IS THAT IT IS EASY TO “TRY”.
MUCH LIKE THE “GOLD IS EVERYWHERE” TREND….ADDING SOME BLACK ACCENTS IS JUST A CAN OF PAINT AWAY.!!!!..SO BEFORE I GO PAINT ALL OF THE WINDOW TRIM IN MY HOUSE BLACK….I MIGHT START WITH A MIRROR OR SOME FRAMES AND JUST ADD A POP OF BLACK….SEE WHERE IT TAKES ME..
THE INVESTMENT IS SMALL…AND THE PAY-OFF CAN BE – HUGE!!!!

DO YOU HAVE ANY BLACK TRIM IN YOUR HOUSE????DO SHARE!!!

MOO!
I love the black trim, windows, and doors. I don’t have any black trim, but I plan on painting the French doors to my back porch a black or charcoal color in the near future.
Ooooh sounds lovely!
I really like the look. Sev
Thanks for stopping by!
I really like the look of black trim and doors. Problem is I don’t feel like repainting the trim and doors so I will admire your pictures instead.
It is a bit daunting!
Black enamel on anything just draws my eyes and admiration. I agree with Debra’s comment…….painting any trim in general is such a chore! I’m not in the position to hire the job out so I stick with the tried and true. Recently I went through a house tour with all navy trim……be still my heart…..just lovely.
I just painted a super ugly bathroom vanity a glossy black chalk paint and it turned out great. I painted my vinyl floor in the same bathroom using your directions and Wickham Gray and Shaker Gray from Benjamin Moore. I’m so pleased with the results and only have a few things left to do for the project to be complete.
No, I don’t have any black trim…dark bronze window trim on the city house. I think it looks chic. Why not try it in Cooper’s bedroom? It’s only one room. I say go for it! 🙂
