ABOUT A MONTH AGO – My friend Melaine at MY SWEET SAVANNAH hosted a
“LESLI DEVITO CUSTOM PET PORTRAIT GIVEAWAY ” …
The winner was Lisa, and the beautiful dog that I got to paint is a golden retriever named “Lola”. Lola was 2 years old when she was adopted by Lisa and her family…which included her 4 year old son, Parke.
“She has been with us since she was 2 years old. She was living with a military family that was being sent overseas and we were able to adopt her. My son, Parke, had just turned 4 and he was afraid of dogs at that time. My husband and I wanted a gentle dog that Parke could grow up with.”

When Parke was 10, his father died unexpectedly and Lola was a source of great comfort during that very difficult time.

LOLA AND PARKE HAVE GROWN UP TOGETHER….

…NOW PARKE HEADS TO COLLEGE THIS FALL AND LISA HOPED HE COULD TAKE “LOLA” WITH HIM, AT LEAST HER PORTRAIT….

I WAS HONORED TO BE PART OF SUCH A SWEET GIFT FROM MOTHER TO SON…

Thank you Cori.
What a special family. The painting turned out beautiful.
Aren’t they! I feel so blessed to have met them through my art…xo
Such a sweet background story and yep, I think you captured Lola perfectly!! Good job.
Thank you Betty! xo
The portrait looks just like her, so sweet! Being a family of Golden owners, we’re glad Lola won.
Thank you Mary Beth…Goldens hold a very special place my heart too. They were my Dad’s favorites…and they are such great dogs!
Parke and I just received our beautiful portrait of LOLA this week! Lesli, you are incredible! When we opened the box, tears jumped into my eyes! You perfectly captured LOLA in a portrait! We will have her with us forever! Thank you again for this precious gift!
Lisa,
I mean this sincerely when I say…the pleasure was all mine…I loved painting LOLA…she is beautiful and such a very special dog…as you well know!!! Enjoy these precious few weeks before Parke heads to college!!! xo
You did a beautiful job with Lola’s portrait. Lisa is my sister. I was lucky enough to win a portrait (by Sue Scoggins) of my 16 year old long-haired dachshund, Boogie, a couple of years ago. Boogie passed last year at 18. Parke and Lisa will love having a portrait of Lola for years to come.
Wow – your talent is amazing. And what a sweet, lovely subject Lola is. Her sweetness is so evident in both the photograph and the painting.
I love this! It brings tears to my eyes! Love Lola’s nose!
