A while back, I was going from room to room, picking up damp towels, thrown over chairs, on beds, on the floor…anywhere but placed on the hooks which I have provided
…..IN ABUNDANCE!!.
I know – “tell THEM to pick up their OWN towels!!”..
…but I ran out of “nagging” gas a while back, the towels get mildewed and quite frankly it is just easier – with Teens anyway – to pick them up , better yet, to find a solution rather than to nag about things like socks and towels….when more pressing and life threatening issues present – things like finishing college essays and applications , driving while texting and making curfew.
Basically – I pick my battles….
I NOTICE THAT MY KIDS ARE ACTUALLY VERY GOOD ABOUT HANGING UP THEIR COATS AND JACKETS THAT HAVE TABS SEWN INTO THE BACK COLLAR….
SO I INVENTED…..
(SHARK TANK HERE I COME!)
TUTORIAL:
- GATHER SUPPLIES – TOWELS, 3/4 ” COTTON TWILL TAPE OR 1/2′ DOUBLE FOLD BIAS TAPE OR HEAVY RIBBON, THREAD, SCISSORS, SEWING MACHINE. (YOU COULD DO THIS BY HAND IF NEEDED)
2. CUT YOUR RIBBON OR TAPE INTO 4 – 5″ STRIPS
3. LAY YOUR 5″ STRIP ALONG THE CENTER INSIDE EDGE OF THE TOWEL AND STITCH DOWN ON BOTH ENDS
FIND A HOOK AND HANG UP YOUR TOWELS!!!!
THE TOWEL TABLS HAVE really helped…especially because the towels which get HUNG UP
STAY HUNG UP ……and don’t slowly slide to the floor!!!!
NOW IF I CAN ONLY GET THEM TO PUT THE CAP ON THE TOOTHPASTE!!!!
Amazing invention! You’re going to make millions! Ha!! I’m running home now to sew tabs on all of our towels!
I would love to make millions!!!
hahah! I actually did that a couple of months ago, my boys couldn’t get the towels to stay on the hooks in their rooms. Patent that!
Great minds think alike!!
That’s why I started buying my towels at Ikea…….they have that on their bath, hand and wash clothes. I guess the person who thought of that for Ikea must of had teens! : )
wow I need to check out Ikea! Thanks
I also sew them on the inside of my kids duvet/covers with a button on the duvet to keep them all in their proper corners!
Genius!
