…and, I spoke about TRENDS, specifically decorating Trends…

What makes a TREND? . ..and which ones ARE IN? AND WHICH ARE on their way out?

I HAVE NOTICED THAT Home Decorators are clinging less and less to TRENDS

and exploring what THEY like.

HERE IS MY PERSONAL LIST OF 5 – THINGS THAT I HAVE NOTICED HOMEOWNERS ARE GRAVITATING TOWARD….

Many of these things are not so much trends…as they are things that have always been around and are becoming more POPULAR…oh wait…THAT IS a TREND!!!

1. BARN DOORS –

LOVE THEM we have them in our MASTER BATHROOM!

BARN DOORS are genius and HUGE space savers…AND I THINK IN A RELATIVELY SHORT SPAN OF TIME, BARN DOORS have gone from a UNIQUE FIXTURE…to something almost standard in building and decorating. They save TONS of space!!! and MAKE so much more sense than doors that can take up 7 SQ ft alone of room space.

I am  seeing them not only as DOORS but as ways to “hide” appliances and  EVEN

Televisions….

2. BUTTERFLIES

ELLE DECOR, IN THEIR  ARTICLE “WHAT’S TRENDING FOR 2107”

ANTICIPATE BUTTERFLIES STEALING OUR HEARTS. I LOVE BUTTERFLIES!!!

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WAY TO ADD LIFE TO A ROOM!

I CAN SEE THESE LOOKING AMAZING IN A NURSERY!!!!

5. COPPER

BRASS HAS BEEN THE STAR FOR A WHILE NOW, AND STILL HOLDS IT’S OWN….BUT COPPER IS NOW HOT-HOT-HOT!!!

4.PINK SOFAS….

ALL OF A SUDDEN, I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO ACHES FOR A PINK SOFA!!!

7. NAVY EVERYTHING!!!!

KITCHENS, WALLS, SOFAS…YOU NAME IT…NAVY IS EVERYWHERE. I JUST FINISHED DECORATING  BASEMENT FAMILY-ROOM AND USED NAVY SOFA…THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!!!

THIS IS JUST ME..But sometimes, where something like a color, or metal becomes “popular” –   it runs the risk of over exposure…and thus we TIRE of it…and it fades away.

I really hope that does not happen to my beloved PINK sofa! Navy i believe will ALWAYS BE GREAT… and Copper…comes and goes…we had all copper in our kitchen when we first moved in because we were trying to save money and incorporate the EXISTING 1960’s copper hardware in the kitchen.
