FORBES MAGAZINE that first impressions are made within the first 7 seconds of meeting someone. and that is is often what we DO and NOT what we say…that contributes the most to others people’s perceptions of us.
“First impressions are more heavily influenced by nonverbal cues than verbal cues.”
Look closely at this photo…everything that is ME is in this “first impression” .
My favorite part of the hall is my Gallery wall. Every item in this Gallery holds deep sentimental meaning to me.
I get asked quite often how to decorate with Kid art. …
Over the years MANY MANY pieces of Art have decorated the fridge..been taped by my desk or on the kids walls or doors….I rotate pieces in and take things out…you simply cannot display it all.
But there are a few pieces, objects de ART that I have never let get buried too deep…like this Birthday Drawing made for me by Tate…the details makes me smile…
Phoebe did this drawing below for Tate and I tucked it away. Finally I framed it. …I LOVE the monogrammed clouds and the birdie ON the cloud…oh my Gosh I love this piece.
Cooper still brings home drawings, not so much in 6th grade but one of my favorites is this Taxi painting he did…when all the cousins got together..
These three pieces by the kids are things I did not pack away, but kept in my desk or dresser so they would never be far from me.
What FIRST IMPRESSION does your Hall give?
7 seconds!!!
I have always framed my daughters art and even though she is now 25 years old nothing makes me smile more than the little dish full of her clay figurines that sits on the shelf in the laundry room. This is true art! Since I no longer have an entryway my front hall says “welcome to my living room”.
