My Mother in Law was visiting recently
and commented on my new
Belgian Linen Drapes.
“Restoration Hardware?”, she asked.
Well, the “Hardware part is correct”, I replied.
These are MY “Belgian Linen” Drapes/Panels.
Except they are actually NOT Belgian Linen,
But Are drop cloths purchased at the actual HARDWARE store.
I cut them down the center
and stitched them with topstitching
and hung them on clips.
EACH window costs $14.99,
or $7.50 a panel
and $30.00 for the room.
you do the math…
Alot minus a little equals ALot saved!!!
***************************
Look if $876 were within reach for me, AND I could really truly Tell
the difference….
I would have the real deal in a Heart beat!!!
I adore Restoration Hardware
and get much of my inspiration from their furniture and finishings.
But These panels give me a very rich look,
and when I tire of them
I have drop cloths!
we call that a WIN-WIN
Gotta Love it!
Have A Great Weekend!!!
xo
they look perfect! and i love the swagged look! and especially the price tag.

I know the drop cloth bandwagon has been around the block, but I recently just starting using them for making pillow cushion covers. Love them. Cheap. Look like linen and are washable. Great choice for your drapes.
As we were losing power last night I decided to resurrect this post from last May…great to see how popular it is…like I always say”smoke and mirrors!”get the look and spend your money where you can tell the difference…like nice cotton sheets and comfortable shoes… And if a tori burch slide finds its way in there well I saved the money elsewhere!!!!

Wow those look beautiful!! I love them just as much as the RH version! Where did you get the drop cloth fabric if it’s ok to ask? Love your space!!!
The drop cloths I got at my local hardware store, called Blue Ridge Builders, it is not a chain store, and I will go get a name and post that when I get back from the beach.
The first thought that came to my mind when I read this post is your mil must not know you very well, hehe. I would never think you’d spend that much on curtains from reading your blog and I love how you got the look for less! They look great!
how right you are, I think my MIL who does know I am a scrimper and saver from WAY back, ssumed I had scored some “seconds” or “deal” but she never guessed they were drop cloths!!! I LOVE IT!!!!
I thought drop cloths were an off white and these look brown or sand color. Did you dye them. Also did you wash them multiple times to soften them?
They came this exact color and I did not wash them until later. They are INCREDIBLY linty when you do wash them. And they look just like linen!!!!
