Kitchen Cabinet RE DO Part 3

Previously on MY OLD COUNTRY HOUSE –

We talked kitchen cabinet hardware and the ins and out of wide wild world of WHITE!

Today I talk about the installation of my kitchen cabinet doors and drawer fronts. How hard could it be? Right? I will tell you!

But, first let me start by saying that I look at every project as an opportunity to learn something new. And even if I am not rushing out to install any more cabinet doors…if I had to…I could!

Here were my big mistakes:
1. I did not have an assistant over the age of 13, and the ones I did have were easily distracted and prone to leaving the room and not coming back.
2. I did not take the time to familiarize myself with the European hinges and the various ways they could be adjusted. Now of course, I am an expert on them, but those lessons were learned the hard way, and I honestly could have gone my whole life and not missed knowing what I learned.
3., 4. and 5…I really needed an assistant.

That being said, and lets just get out of the way the fact that on average , the first 4 or five doors took 1 hour each to install, in the end, I am still VERY happy that I went this route. When I walk into the kitchen now, I love how it looks, and I have not even replaced the countertops  and floors or avocado green oven yet!!!All in good time!
I am saving the full reveal for when the job is completely done, and the remaining doors are hung. However, for you patience, here are some BEFORE and AFTERS!

AND ONE MORE AFTER

NOW HERE is the thing I want you to take away from this…no matter HOW much I complain about how difficult this was, OR HOW LONG IT TOOK,  I saved myself thousands of dollars…let me say that again…THOUSANDS  of dollars doing my kitchen update this way. And if it was a pain in my butt and an thorn in my side, oh well, so be it, not everything comes easy or is a blast…but in the end, when all of the PHASES are done, I will look like I have an expensive kitchen and I will have done most of it MYSELF!!! and like I say:
IF I CAN MAKE IT HERE-YOU CAN AMKE IT ANYWHERE!!!
HAVE FUN LEARNING SOMETHING NEW TODAY!

TOMORROW – INSTALLING A DOOR WITH A EUROPEAN HINGE !!!
AND PAINTING MY  DINING ROOM TABLE
