THE VERY LAST “FIRST DAY” OF SCHOOL

Remember being so excited about the first day of school – that you could hardly sleep?

It all lay ahead – so much to learn and experience.

I have done the parenting “First day” thing FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS!

THE “FIRST” FIRST DAY – TATE STARTS PRE K, PHOEBE STARTS NURSERY AND COOPER…WELL COOPERS GETS LEFT BEHIND…BUT NOT FOR LONG!

Eighteen years – And this morning, as we are down to one kid at home – we took the proverbial “First Day Photo” for the last time.

GULP

COOPER – THE FIRST DAY OF HIS SENIOR YEAR – VOTED BY THE FAMILY AS “CUTEST BABY”- HE IS THE TALLEST OF MY 3 KIDS AND IS WISE BEYOND HIS YEARS…WHILE BEING ALL OF 17.

It has all gone so fast and all the years blur together…identified my milestone moments.

Here we are and in one year I will be taking photos of no one. My life will not be over – but forever changed.

This chapter that I dreamed of, prayed for, loved with all my might – will be behind me. And I know that there is no way I can prepare myself except to live each day and each moment with as much truth and awareness and love as I can muster in that moment. I have 3 amazing kids. They came out that way …and together we have been a family. all for one and one for all.

I hope to share this journey, this last leg, in words and photos – here –

and I hope that those of you who can relate will share your experiences – because if not for each other – what do we have?

XO

Me and my boy

GOOD LUCK TO COOPER AND THE CLASS OF 2019!!!!!

  1. What a handsome young man! I know those childhood years seem like they’ll go on forever and then one day, they’re suddenly gone. You have raised three beautiful, awesome kids and you should be proud of that! Enjoy every minute of Cooper’s last year at home and in high school. Well done!

  2. Wow, what a handsome young man! I know how you are feeling…. I’ve been there, done that. I get kind of nostalgic this time of year when I see the flyers with all of the “back to school” stuff. Enjoy his last year in high school.
