THE A / Z FAMILY of 4 MOVED INTO THEIR DREAM HOME A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AGO.
This wonderful young family of 4 has already grown to 5 and will soon be 6! My goal was to give them a living room that would BE SAFE, BEAUTIFUL AND DURABLE for little ones, while still bringing comfort and functional beauty for the GrOWN-UPS.
I had a great head start…the walls in most of the fist floor rooms are painted one of my favorite , AND one of THE most versatile colors – Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter.

THE DECORATING PROJECT INVOLVED THE LIVING ROOM, THE DINING ROOM AND THE STUDY. The current living room furniture was less that a year old…was going to be relocated to the study. The rug and coffee table and rustic sofa table (all also almost new) would remain.

THE RUG AND COFFEE TABLE REMAINED…THE RUG MAKING A GREAT ANCHOR.

I wanted the furniture to be durable, and comfortable …as well as pretty. There is a HUGE kids playroom downstairs , so I wanted THIS to be the room where the adults could unwind…as well as the whole family. The sofa’s are by Four Seasons Furniture. They make the most beautiful, practical , slipcovered furniture I have ever seen. The slip covers come off in sections – the arms, the skirt etc…so that cleaning is not a major issue. You can replace sections as need be…for example if the cat claws your sofa skirt but the rest is pristine, all you need to replace is the skirt!
I chose a Very classic and timeless flax colored Belgian linen in an ENGLISH ROLL ARM STYLE. .

The CAMRYN chairs are upholstered in Sarah Richardson’s Denman Pool. The custom made accent pillows are in Sarah Richardson Brookhaven Meadow and Coral. I liked how all the colors coördinated in Sarah’s fabrics, leaving room to bring in more pops of color in the future.
I swapped out the knobs on the above sofa table.

The client texted me the morning after the installation and told me she felt like she had woken up to a dream. I am so happy that her home now really feels comfy and relaxing as well as beautiful. I can’t wait to she you the STUDY and DINING ROOM NEXT WEEK!

Absolutely Peaceful & Cozy! I do have a question for you if you can help me out. We are in the middle of remodeling and I had originally wanted to use Revere Pewter in most living areas of the house and our Master Bedroom and Bath because it looked so beautiful in our bedroom (north and west facing). However, in our south facing rooms (Kitchen and Dining Room) it turned a true brown… I was so disappointed! Is there a gray paint color that you know of that will stay that true gray in south facing light and also will look like Revere Pewter does when it’s showing its pretty gray color? Thanks for taking the time to read this. 🙂
Check our Stonington and Wickham gray. And also Titanium. These may work. I am not very good on south vs north…do the south rooms get less light?
Beautiful. I absolutely LOVE the giraffe painting! Perfect colors for the space & I’m a huge giraffe fan any day of the week. Truly lovely.
Thank you Amy! Giraffes are the best!
Lesli, the south facing rooms (Master Bath, Kitchen, and Dining Room) receive great amounts of light. For some reason that turns Revere Pewter brown. The north facing rooms (Master Bedroom and Living Room) look a warm, silvery gray. Absolutely gorgeous. Just like the pics above.
THANK YOU!
I did look at those pictures twice. I like it so much. So cozy and inviting. Gorgeous.
