MONDAY MAKEOVER – CLIENT STUDY/PLAYROOM

LAST WEEK I SHARED WITH YOU A RECENT PROJECT.

BEFORE

THE EXISTING LEATHER FURNITURE (above left) WAS TO BE MOVED TO A nearby ROOM WHICH WOULD SERVE AS A LITTLE KIDS TV ROOM NOW – TO BE LATER USED A STUDY FOR DAD. This meant that things would need to be durable and safe…

THE STUDY/PLAYROOM IS EASILY VISIBLE FROM THE KITCHEN AND LIVING ROOM...FOR SUPERVISION OF THE KIDS. THEY HAVE A GREAT PLAYROOM ON ANOTHER FLORR BUT THEY ARE STILL TOO YOUNG TO BE UNSUPERVISED.

Obviously people move and don’t always stay in THE SAME house from birth to college , but when I am decorating a home to transition from stage to stage, I try to keep things as classic and malleable as possible…so that the house can grow with the family.

I LOVE HOW ALL OF THE PIECES CAME TOGETHER…EVERYTHING JUST FELL INTO PLACE AND THE FORMER LIVING ROOM FURNITURE IS PERFECT IN THE DEN!

  1. Can you tell me more about the painting if a very tall person bending into a upside down “U” to pet a tny dog?

    Just evocative of a common, but special thing we all do: acknowledge the dog to our delight.

  3. Love that their original living room furniture was put to good (& good looking) use. Do you have a source for that fantastic ottoman? Thanks in advance!

    1. THE Ottoman is by Precedent Dwell Studio. I got it in Greenfront which sells a variety of items, often times, closeouts…or furniture lines that have been discontinued. You can get this ottoman….but not in this patchwork…I think it was a showroom sample. Hope this helps…the size is fantastic!
