Finally, the months of toilets in the living room and stacks of tile in the corner…dealing with contractors and saws and 5 people in one bathroom..those days are all BEHIND US!!!! ( uh, no pun intended)
The MASTER BATHROOM IS DONE!
New Bathroom..including new ceilings!
I found a BEFORE picture…this goes way back…
Shower- VIGO 47″ X 47″ NEO ANGLE SHOWER from HOMECLICK. this is an item worth price shopping for. VIGO makes great products and can keep their prices down because they are only available through websites. PRICE shop – I hit a Presidents Day weekend sale and saved $250 – total cost $1100 for the whole kit- walls and floor.
SHOWER FAUCET- Listen up. ALL NEWLY INSTALLED showers must be PRESSURE BALANCE ones. But, the pressure balance showers do not work well in Big old Country Houses. In addition, the part that goes inside the wall was fine and did not need to be replaced. What I found out the hard way was that the external hardware for the NEW showers, often does not fit the OLD internal hardware.BUT, I after buying and trying and returning about 5 trim kits, I finally found one, The MARIELLE BY PFISTER…IT fitS my American Standard internal unit…and I actually did a little happy jig the day I found it!!!!
The SUBWAY tile – from LOWES. gives the shower a Custom appearance and elevates the look.Comes in boxes of 100 tiles, or by the individual tile for .22 cents each. AND You can return any tiles you do not use.The decorative tiles around the center were a last-minute addition, I ran to Lowes to get some more subway tile and these decorative tiles were on sale for 75 cents vs the original $2.50. I thought they would make a nice addition and dress the shower up a bit. I LOVE them.
VANITY – This is worth the time it might take to find the right piece. OR you may even have the right piece right under your nose in our own home. I have yet to find any custom vanities I like more than this option. $250 at CIRCA used furniture in Charlottesville.
KOHLER ARCHER SINK – This sink by Kohler is the largest drop in sink when it comes to coverage of your vanity top. I knew the top would be just the varnished top of the dresser so wanted as much overlap as possible. LOVE THIS SINK! Under $200 at Lowes.
KOHLER DEVONSHIRE TOILET- I have said it before and I will say it again, I think it is worth the few extra pennies to buy a snazzier looking toilet. Come on, it is the “anchor” of the room…and this new Devonshire uses less water, less space and looks pretty to boot! Price shop – we got this one at Lowes for under $300
The floor is Hexagon Tile from Home depot…Post here.
SINK FAUCET– Randolph Morris 8 Inch Bridge Lavatory Faucet with Cross Handles. In polished Chrome. I adore this faucet.
I agonized, (sorta sounds stupid now) but I spent hours trying to decide whether to go with Brass or Polished Chrome in the master Bathroom. I finally chose the Chrome. Both are timeless, and both would look great but I just did not think that over time the Brass wold keep me as happy as the Chrome does. again…so silly. but it mattered at the time.
MEDICINE CHEST AND TABLE- The medicine chest is from Pottery Barn and the little Demi Table is from our new Homegoods! It was $59 and while I intended to paint it, it looks so nice with the cabinet I am leaving it alone.
The “SUSSEX” sconce above the window is from Pottery Barn and matches the TP Holder and Hooks. The Green Scalloped Mirror was a $15 Thrift store find that I spray painted Kelly Green. I LOVE this mirror!!!
The walls are painted Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue and the Beadboard and trim is Mountain Peak White. I love standing at my new sink and looking out across the back yard…I can see the Cows next door and the kids and pets running around…It is so peaceful…
. Did you know Doors use up 7 square feet of room space. Well I am excited to say we have solved that Issue with a BARN DOOR!!! and Hardware from REAL SLIDING HARDWARE
THE MASTER BATHROOM!!! THANKS FOR VISITING
Thank you, thank you. I have been scouring the interwebz for that medicine cabinet. My tiny bathroom being pulled down to studs. I have my Lowe’s card at the ready. And don’t you love subway tile?
LOVE this bathroom! We reno’d our upstairs bath several years ago, but have been putting off reno-ing our main floor bath. We bought all the stuff for it…including an antique dresser to convert into a vanity…but just haven’t gotten around to making it happen yet. I LOVE what you’ve done with your bath!
Wow!! Turned out great!
Love it! Turned out beautifully. Love your choices and all your hard work.
Looks absolutely stunning!

Wow! That just couldn’t be any prettier. I love the new but vintage look you have. The coral frame and the green framed mirror add a nice pop of color.
Perfection
Thank you so much!
Favorite bathroom I’ve ever seen 🙂

I love the mix of old and new in your bathroom! Jealous of all the space you have. I too have an old piece of furniture for my vanity, a very, very old dry sink with great lines and details. My holdback is that I’m not sure how to get the cutout for the sink so that it will align with the drain pipe below. Do you have any pearls of wisdom?!!! ~ Thanks!
I absolutely love that sink in the dresser! and the half round table is a great idea.
Thank you. That sink /vanity is probably one of my top 5 favorite things about our house!
