MONDAY MAKEOVER – MUDROOMS AND CREATIVE STORAGE

A few years ago, I was looking for an inventive and artistic way to hang the millions…
BILLIONS
…of coats which usually end up on our hall floor.
At 30 feet x 10 feet – OUR upstairs and downstairs
 hallways function as rooms….
The downstairs is a QUASI MUDROOM
The Pew
The Pew was the FIRST piece of furniture we got when we moved here. For a while, during the renovation it was the ONLY piece of furniture…the kids…who were still tiny…would take naps on it….
I like this beachy feel

The upstairs hall is where we try to make up for the lack of closets with dressers…so very many dressers….

The Hallways/Mudrooms/Closets….
are also more visible
than traditional mudrooms and thus
EVERYTHING is OUT and VISIBLE
HALLGOLDFRAMES
I SUPPOSE I could just line the hall with rubbermaid bins..storage..but that would be SO NOT ME. This has inspired me to find clever and attractive ways to store things….lots of things…linens, shoes, tools, photos…you get the point!
One of my favorites is the SHOE MOLD COAT RACK!
This awesome coat rack was made…
 by attaching vintage shoe molds
onto an old recycled plank of wood.
Then I painted it with Benjamin Moore’s
Fairy Tale Blue
I love the pointy toes! I wonder what those shoes looked like?
I do not find myself in Pointy Pumps often – Okay, EVER! But – I do so love them! Now what was I talking about? Oh yes…STORAGE!!!!
What clever ways have you found to HIDE YOUR STUFF???
COMING THIS WEEK –
PHOEBE’S BIRTHDAY BEDROOM MAKEOVER REVEAL!!!
