You now have the rare misfortune of being the few people to have seen how BAD the exterior of
MY OLD COUNTRY HOUSE
IS.
But no time to wallow in that. The time has come to fix the outside up to match the interior which has been restored over the years to her beautiful youthful glow…
This is going to be a BIG JOB…
……the “addition” is ALL WOOD AND really just where the sleeping porch upstairs and downstairs it encloses the laundry room and pantry…an then there is a back porch…
The painters spent the weekend scraping…and will continue this week and then paint I think monday so I have TWO days to decide what color!!!!!
Here are some of my choices(all Benjamin Moore) :
AND ONE MORE JUST TO CONFUSE THE ISSUE
DO YOU HAVE ANY TRIED AND TRUE EXTERIOR WHITES….WE HAVE THE 140 YEAR OLD NEVER PAINTED STUCCO TO WORK WITH…THE CLOSEST COLOR TO THE STUCCO IS “REVERE PEWTER”
HELP!
My vote is for Revere Pewter! Good luck on the transformation. I know it will be just as beautiful as everything else you’ve done 🙂
My vote is for Calm. Thanks for being vulnerable — it’s good to know that everything is not perfection at your country house…just like all of ours!
I like Alabaster. It’s so nice and bright.
HI Lesli,
Having just gone through this…. I can appreciate the surprise/ overwhelm of seeing all this things that need doing. Things we all just live this and stop seeing. I would like to recommend to you my secret weapon: Penny Holmes who has a business called Virginia Home Consulting – she has a SWAT team who comes in and takes care of all the zillions of things that need doing. She is super organized, down to earth and such a relief to work with her… and very affordable – best deal in town! Best, Sarah
Thank you everyone and Sarah I will have to check out Penny!
I have used Swiss Coffee (a warm white) and Calm (a cool white). Love them both but I think Swiss Coffee is my favorite.
I’ll narrow it down to …… Swiss Coffee or Calm – I make my final pick on colors by their names – kinda like I pick my wine by the label – works for me. Good Luck – it will look awesome.
