ONE ROOM CHALLENGE – LINKING EVENT – WEEK 4
WEEK 4
THIS WEEK WAS A FUN ONE. We are in the home stretch and nothing pulls a room together MORE than fabrics and rugs…texture and color. Especially because Cooper is going more “MINIMALISTIC”…the pops of color have more of an impact than they might have in his old room.
SOMETHING OLD
RUGS – The rugs in Cooper’s room are both “old”. The Brown Dhrurrie was as you might remember in MY room. After what felt like weeks of having new rugs shipped here, we tried MY rug to get a sense of the color and Cooper fell in love with it. The small “oriental rug” next to his bed had been in my Husband’s office…
SOMETHING(S) NEW
THE ACCENT TABLEs on either side of Coops bed are from TARGET. As always , we got a great deal…suggestion – if you order online there is always a promo going on and you will ALWAYS save at the very least 15% by entering a code at checkout. Cooper assembled one and I did the other…it was fun! Mine is one the right and Coops on the left…
THE STORAGE BENCH ABOVE AT THE FOOT OF THE BED IS ALSO FROM TARGET. COOPER PUT THAT ONE TOGETHER ALL BY HIMSELF!
MORE NEW ITEMS INCLUDE THE BEDDING FROM HOMEGOODS(END-CAP DEAL!!!1) (STRIPED QUILT) AND CRATE AND BARREL (QUILT AT THE FOOT OF THE BED).
SOMETHING BORROWED
Cooper is borrowing my painting of the Boston Public Garden…for as long as he wants to! THE Brass “ARTERIORS” KNOCK OFF LAMPS FROM TARGET ARE ALSO ON PERMANENT LOAN!
SOMETHING BLUE
IS ALSO OLD AND NEW AND BORROWED! You may remember the navy Dwell Studio fabric from THE CORNICES IN Phoebe’s old bedroom…
ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT THOSE WINDOW TREATMENTS WAS THAT THERE WAS NO FABRIC CUTTING, SO AFTER I DID THE MAKEOVER OF PHOEBE’S BEDROOM AND THESE WERE NO LONGER NEEDED….I SIMPLY REMOVED THE FABRIC, WASHED IT AND MADE COOPER SOME NEW SHAMS!
AND LASTLY COOPER IS NOW THE OWNER OF PHOEBE’S AWESOME BLUE CHAIR!
NEXT WEEK – COOPER’S DESK AND ENTERTAINMENT CENTER!!!! THESE 6 WEEKS ARE FLYING!!!!!
CHECK OUT THE 20 – ONE ROOM CHALLENGE GUEST PARTICIPANTS AND TRACK THEIR PROGRESS TOO! THE challenges run the gamut, from color changes and swap outs to contractors and walls removed and gut renovations…you are likely to find many scenarios that are in your orbit right now and LOADS of INSPIRATION!
AGO….” I LOVE THAT BOY!!!!
Looks great! Loving the chair and all the matching pieces.
THANK YOU SUZY!!!!
Wow, you’ve made so much progress already. It looks almost done. I’m nowhere near “done” with my kitchen. But seeing your room gave me the motivation to step it up next week. Can’t wait to see the final result. Karolina
Thank you Karolina!!! I cannot wait to see your kitchen..Good luck!!!
I love how much fun you and Cooper are having on your ORC. I am doing a bathroom with my daughter (#motherdaughterorc) and it is fun to shop and make decisions together with her more in the lead this time 🙂
And I am big believer in shopping the house, the fabric stash and ‘on loan” art and such. can’t wait to see the reveal and I really want that gray striped quilt!!!
Thank you Marcie!
The house…is a great “store” isn’t it? and the price is certainly right!!!
Cannot wait to see your mother-daughter bathroom makeover!!! I know my daughter will be jealous as she has always had to share her bathroom with her two brothers!
good luck!
There you go, it was super duper simple :)!
