3 BIG things were bugging me in our MASTER bedroom
- CLUTTER -The bookshelves which really just stored books already READ books.
- COLOR – I wanted the colors to make more sense and the room to feel more cohesive.
- DRESSER – The DRESSER, purchased originally as a side board for the dining room…and which was a style I no longer cared for.
So I decided to do a MINI MAKEOVER –
1.FIRST I SIMPLY PACKED UP THE BOOKS, and moved the bookcases to the storage room. DONES. IMMEDIATELY – the bedroom felt roomier and less cluttered. I will either put the bookcases on Craigslist or let Tate take them this summer when he gets his first APARTMENT! Yikes!
2. I ordered some inexpensive NEW SHEETS , Pillows and a THE TARGET THRESHOLD MEDALLION QUILT to coordinate with my AHTROPOLOGIE PONSONBY QUILT and update the colors, bring in some blush and mint .
3. UPDATE THE DRESSER
I TRIED A FEW COLORS AND SETTLED ON BENJAMIN MOORE ANCHOR GRAY IN ADVANCE SATIN FINISH. I REMOVED THE SHABBY EMBELLISHMENTS AND ADDED NEW DRAWER PULL HOLES TO ACCOMODATE THE NEW HARDWARE.
I PAINTED THE DRAWER INTERIORS RALEIGH PEACH WHICH IS GORGEOUS! THE PHOTOS DO NOT DO IT JUSTICE.
NEXT UP -I WAS SO EXCITED TO FIND THIS MID-CENTURY DROP PULL HARDWARE ON ETSY – STILL IN THE PACKAGE!!!!…IT HAD BEEN PRESERVED FOR 50 YEARS LIKE NEW…I ALMOST DIDN’T WANT TO OPEN IT…!
I WOULD LIKE TO UPGRADE THE BENCH AT THE FOOT OF THE BED…YOU KNOW, FROM A PICNIC BENCH BUT FOR NOW, I PAINTED THE BENCH BASE SPRING MINT….
MASTER BEDROOM MINI-MAKEOVER COMPLETE!
XO
