exciting things are happening for My Old Country House!!!
but ….first….a CHARLIE UPDATE…
One week ago…Charlie came home from having survived being hit by the car and after having FHO surgery. The road back is long but he is a trooper. It breaks my heart because he is SO not himself. He is very sleepy and seems sad, and I can tell how bad it hurts him to move. As my son said “He does not know this will not last forever and that is so hard.” But he is doing better every day.……today he is resting…

…………….his GIGANTIC new bed is wonderful and he spends most of his time alternating between the bed and the crate. He will only eat if I hand feed him wet food…and if you knew his appetite pre accident you would not this is so not his norm….I want this time to go faster and to have him out of pain and lounging in the yard…playing tag with Muffin and Dash…chasing the cat…in time, in time. Thanks for all of your notes asking about him….

I HAVE BEEN HONORED TO HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED RECENTLY BY A FEW PUBLICATIONS

NAMED MY OLD COUNTRY HOUSE ONE OF THE 50 BEST INTERIORS AND VINTAGE BLOGS OF 2014. SPECIFICALLY, MOCH WAS AMONG 8 BLOGS NAMED FOR
“BEAUTIFUL HOMES AND INSPIRING INTERIORS”

Quite an honor! The other 7 WINNING blogs are definitely worth visiting and some of them I have been in love with for years! Give yourself plenty of time to meander through…I am certain you will add many if not all of these to your “BLOGS I LOVE” list. TALK ABOUT EYE CANDY!!!!
I subscribed to HOMES AND ANTIQUES MAGAZINE and can hardly wait to get my first issue!!!As much as I love blogs there is nothing to compare to opening a new magazine issue with it’s endless possibilities…the colors alone are worth the price of subscription…and I love the edgy and off beat decorating styles which come out of Great Britain and get much of my inspiration from there. I highly encourage you to visit their site and check them out.

I am so glad to hear that Charlie is doing better! I’ll keep him in my prayers…
Congratulations on your well-deserved recognition from such great magazines! I’ve been following the story of dear “Charlie” and I know he will be mending with your tender love and care. I am moved by your love and devotion to your “furry friend”.
So glad to hear that Charlie is on the mend. Poohbear had FHO surgery when she was about 9 months old (also hit by a car) and she went on to live a very full, happy life. It is amazing what the scar tissue can do! He is a rockstar!
awww Pooh bear…I would like to pick your brain about any tricks for the recovery. he is as sad as he can be, faces the back of the crate…I can tell he is in so much pain, but he still does try to get up, goes to pee…It just breaks my hearts…but I know by Summer my Charlie will be back…just feels so far away…day to day…..xo
I have been following for a while and have never commented. I am so sorry about Charlie and hope that he feels better soon! I am a huge softy for pups; we have a plump 2 year old yellow lab named Bailey and she is a Momma’s girl. 🙂
I love your blog and have enjoyed it so much! Thoughts and prayers for you and Charlie!
Jodi
