 KANDINSKY INSPIRED WATER COLOR PAINTING

….the oppressive heat broke and we seized the moment and headed to the creek today…we sketched and played with our friends….

There was a moment, when they were all perched on various rocks and ledges, drawing in their notebooks, sketching quietly and all  the only sounds were those of the creek burbling, and the birds twirping, and the bees humming and the summer breathing and I thought…”surely this must be what MY heaven will be like…”

Then, very quietly, and slowly I said in my “if I were a yoga instructor, this is how I might talk” voice “okay, We are going to head back up in 15 minutes so if you would like to continue drawing you may do so, but if you would like to Pl….”

I never finished the word “PLAY” and 16 hands were reaching toward me with 8 sketch pads and 8 pencils and some shirts and some hair ties and they were OFF, playing in creek in what must be THEIR heaven. The sounds were heavenly…their voices mixed with the summer. Like a beautiful symphony.
