In my quest for the RIGHT WHITE for the exterior of our “addition” I have become acquainted with a myriad of WHITE paint colors…many, many of them are NOT at all what I would call “WHITE” but they all posses a similar CALM that unites them.
I played around with the Benjamin Moore Personal Color Viewer…and “painted” one of my favorite spots in the house…though at the end of this post you will see some changes that have taken place…the the CHAIR and SOFA in this photo….
HERE IS A SCENE FROM OUR “SEA SALT” LIVING ROOM….
AND NOW LETS DO SOME VIRTUAL PAINTING!!!!

I LIKE THE BARELY DETECTABLE HINT OF GREEN IN THIS BLUE…I AM ACTUALLY IN LOVE WITH THIS COLOR…PATRIOTIC WHITE…
I THINK MY NEXT COLOR POST WILL BE ON ALL OF THE PAINT COLORS WITH
THE WORD “CLOUD” IN THEM!!!
I LIKE WHITE RIVER..KIND OF REMINDS ME OF
“CREAMY WHITE”
AND I LOVE THE EVER SO SLIGHT HINT OF PINK…

BUT HERE IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES…
THERE WILL BE MORE ON THE LIVING ROOM MAKEOVER…FOR WHILE
I DID
PAINT THE LIVING ROOM WHITE DOWN..
…..I LIVED WITH IT FOR A WEEK..AND THEN CHANGED IT!!!

Can’t believe you are moving out of this gorgeous house! Hope you continue to blog on your next one as I am sure it will be equally fabulous.
Oh Tara, his week, I have to agree with you and this is how I look at it…I will ONLY move if we can improve our quality of life…and so if the right buyer at he right price can help up pay for college and simplify our life to embrace the next step…then so be it..and if not…I am going NO where!!! because I LOVE MY OLD COUNTRY HOUSE!
Lesli, you do such a great job! I love the new covers on the couch, chair and ottoman-just stunning! I’m happy to hear you won’t move unless the offer is a good one and your life is better for it…hoping you have peace through the whole process.
The “whites” we’re interesting to read about and compare, thanks for sharing.
I’m curious why you repainted your White Down living room since I’m painting my kitchen cabinets that color. Also, would you say White Down is a white or light cream? I was going for light cream, but after one coat, the color looks completely white. Thank you very much!
The white down was not really a cream but a grayed- pale antique white if that makes sense. I think it is light dependent . Our living room has 12′ ceilings and the color was too light to be cream and too dark to be white. Not sure if this makes any sense. At the time I wnatef a Grayer color . That being said the Alli were just repainted Sherwinn willima “steamed milk” . I think that wall colors often do not read the same on cabinets . What color are you going for ?!!!
Any suggestions for a Sherwin Williams “Alabaster” complement for walls. Alabaster will go on Kitchen cabinets.
