CHERRY BLOSSOM TREE TIME – My Old Country House

…right in my own back yard…hidden by a giant Magnolia, imagine my sheer delight when I rounded the corner and saw …THIS!

Loveliest of trees, the cherry now

Is hung with bloom along the bough,

And stands about the woodland ride

Wearing white for Eastertide.

Now, of my threescore years and ten,

Twenty will not come again,

And take from seventy springs a score,

It only leaves me fifty more.

And since to look at things in bloom

Fifty springs are little room,

About the woodlands I will go

To see the cherry hung with snow.

Oh wow! Cherry blossom trees are so beautiful – I think I would squeal out loud if I found that unexpectedly. Then I would lie under it for hours each day. 🙂

Beautiful! I grew up in that part of the country, and love visiting it whenever possible.
