The COLORS In My Old Country House

I have been asked to share
The Colors of my OLD Country House
(all of my Paints are Benjamin Moore Paints) and all of my interior finishes are the
PEARL finish. In addition to being easy to keep clean, Our walls are very bumpy and have a lot of “character” and the Pearl finish accentuates the imperfections…which i LOVE!
I have used “matte”before but I did not care for it…in THIS house.
You have to use what works for YOU and your house,
and I think the finish is as important as the color
when achieving the look and feel you want.

EXTERIOR
OUR HOUSE is three layers of brick covered with stucco. the stucco,
believe it or not, has never been painted. ever.

And we have not yet gotten the courage or funds to have it stained (which is preferable with stucco to painting). The trim is just plain white but the underside of our big front porch is
“Birds Egg”
and I love it!

The interior front and back doors are both painted
“Mallard Green”

 

 

The LIVING ROOM
which is One large room divided by 8 foot pocket doors
is “Spring in Aspen” and “Pink Cloud”
and I have still not tired of this combination.

 

THE DINING ROOM
which is off the kitchen and off the front hall
is “Ashwood ” 

 

THE KITCHEN
still undergoing a slooowwww makeover
the cabinets are
“Mountain Peak White” and the walls are
“Stonington Gray”

HALL4(this is a sister color to “Feather Down” but a tad,
darker, as the upstairs hall gets more bright light than
the downstairs and I hoped they
 would look essentially the same…and they do.

I am fascinated with the new Benjamin Moore “Color Stories”
and plan to us a few of those new colors in the bathrooms upstairs.
Oh yeah, how could I forget…we have a teeny
bathroom downstairs, under the stairs (like Harry Potter’s room), and it is painted half way
