| The First View |
Dark and cold, and very old and dirty. The house had been empty for 3 years. But immediately all I could see were the tall ceilings, the 30ft long hallway, the immense staircase and the moldings. I remember I pinched my husband because I did not want to appear over eager or crazy in front of the landlord.
The floors, which we later refinished, were nearly black. My children, at the time 3, 5 and 7 years old, were required to wear shoes at all times so the foot long splinters would not pierce their little feet.
The hall has undergone many transformations.
Two versions, Benjamin Moores “Revere Pewter” and more recently, a lighter Benjamin Moore’s” Feather Down.
What color is your entryway? Suggestions? Ideas? After lightening it up, I have been toying with the idea of a deep gray or blue gray? hmmmm. What do you think?
