Sometimes i wish I lived in the house in my blog.
You know the clean one…the one with that is styled and pretty…and did I say clean?
We are having our home photographed by a local magazine and preparing the house has put me face to face…in some cases…nose to nose…with the filth…the nastiness that hides under our busy schedules…basically I am thoroughly grossed out and completely in the weeds…
Chipped paint and white edges rubbed to brown by dirty dogs…little stuff everywhere…piles and piles of stuff…I really am a bit disgusted by the level of filth I am uncovering …in my attempt…
to make this look like the house in the blog!!!
Wish me luck!
I believe there is no shame in calling Merry Maids or whoever. Sometimes it just gets to be too much. Believe me you are not alone.
Save your sanity, hire some help. You’ll thank me.
amen, sister!
Good luck! I agree with the other ladies, no shame in getting some help! You are a busy mom and deserve it. Looking forward to seeing which magazine is featuring you…let us know where we can pick one up.
How exciting, but I know what you mean by the house on the blog vs. the real life house. Keep your eye on the prize. Xo
My Mama taught me lots of good stuff, but when it comes to keeping house, she had some simple advice that I practice to this day…keep the clutter picked up and put away, then your house always looks clean even if it’s dirty!
Oh girlfriend…it’s all of those ‘perfect house’ photos I see in the blogs that make me want a therapist on call 24/7, lol! A little dirt and clutter is good. From now on when I look at the photos my mantra will be…”It’s not for real….it’s not for real….it’s not for real….” And then I will start running around and picking stuff up…. 😉
People with perfect looking houses have spent far too much time making them look like that….There are better things to do! Whenever I see one of those spotless minimalist houses I always think……”Yes, but where is all your stuff????? ” Its all thrown in thier junk room for the photos…everyones got a junk room, even the minimalists…..they just dont take puictures of it xx
Lordy! You and me both:)
xo Holly! Hope you had a wonderful Mothers day!
I have decided to take the pressure off by purposely taking one cluttered picture per house project post. That way, everyone knows what they are walking into. And if by some miracle, I manage to put everything away, I look like Wonder Woman! 🙂
