STILL HAVE MAD MEN ON MY MIND…I GUESS IT WILL TAKE TIME…
our entryway – THIS PIECE WAS INHERITED FROM MY HUSBAND’S GRANDMOTHER. IT WAS A BIG DEAL TO BE ABLE TO BY NEW FURNITURE AND SHE AND HER HUSBAND WERE IN THEIR 50’S WHEN THEY GOT THEIR NEW BEDROOM SET IN THE 60’S. I CHERISH THESE PIECES WHICH ARE ALL OVER THE HOUSE. WE BROKE UP THE SET TO SPREAD THE WEALTH!
SINCE MY HEAD IS STILL SWIMMING IN THE 60’S HOW ABUT WE TAKE A LOOK AT SOME OF
MY
FAVORITE

CREDENZA CREDENZA
I remember being so excited when we got a NEW SIDEBOARD/ credenza that had the STEREO BUILT IN!!!! But quite often your sound system sat out on a piece of furniture. STEREOS TOOK UP A LOT OF SPACE. The turntable, the amplifier, the tuner and the speakers. Add a lamp and you have a LONG piece of furniture. I LOVE THEM.
THESE days our sound systems fit in the palm of our hand but our TV’s are long and skinny and are perfectly at home atop a long skinny CREDENZA!!!!I could and do have one in every room downstairs!
KENT COFFEY CREDENZA – PERHAPS MY FAVORITE SCORE EVER!always one for the SURPRISE… I love the drawers INSIDE our cabinet.
I LOVE OUR CREDENZA…RECENTLY I FOUND THIS COMPANION PIECE ….ON EBAY…LOCAL SHIPPING ONLY..IN THE BOSTON AREA….I MIGHT MOVE TO BOSTON JUST TO GET THIS PIECE..OR DRIVE AND PICK IT UP!!!!
KENT COFFEY PERSPECTA CHINA CABINET!!!INTERIORS BY STUDIO M – I LOVE THE LONG SKINNY TAPERED LEGS…SUCH A MID CENTURY TRADEMARK!
SFGIRLBYBAY THE LONG CREDENZA IS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO HANG A GREAT HUGE PIECE OF ART!!!
TYPE IN “CREDENZA” AND YOU WILL FIND AS MANY AS THE DAY IS LONG…HAVE FUN!!!!
LAMPS
I KNOW THIS PROBABLY IS NOT TRUE, but I feel like in the 60’s, lamps went from utilitarian to creative pieces of ART and LIGHT…YES, MANY WERE AS UGLY AS SIN…but many are wonderful and ETSY has them in abundance…and Mid Century INSPIRED lamps are EVERYWHERE!

AND OF COURSE …..EVERYBODY IS NUTS ABOUT THE SPUTNIK CEILING LAMPS!
Presumably Lightolier was the first to produce these “Sputnik” lights, but since 1960, the design has been made by countless designers and manufacturers and can be found in a wide range of prices and sizes. The PH5 Pendant Lamp by Poul Henningsen (Photo: DanishDesignStore.com)
ART ART ART ART ART ART ART
I COULD AND SHOULD DO AN ENTIRE WEEK OF POSTS ON THE ART OF MADMEN, BUT SUFFICE TO SAY…THEY HIT THE GOLDMINE!!! MADMEN depicted a level of affluence that could afford some of the best Popular ART in the 60’s and I do believe that ART is IN and I could not be HAPPIER!!!!!
