Let me start by saying that I am a bit distracted by the disappearance of our Dog “Dash” and have been remiss in posting…but I know you ALL understand I sincerely appreciate the support, the Facebook shares and the postings of your own.
A few weeks ago, I asked for your input…to repaint my living room from pink cloud to either:
I chose WHITE DOWN
THE LIVING ROOM PAINTED WHITE DOWN
BUT I CHANGED MY MIND!
HERE IS THE “OFFICIAL” NEW LIVING ROOM!!!
BENJAMIN MOORE “CLASSIC GRAY”

I AM JUST SO IN LOVE WITH THIS COLOR!!!!)
CLASSIC GRAYLIVING ROOM #2 MAKEOVER WITH BENJAMIN MOORE “CLASSIC GRAY”NEWLY REUPHOLSTERED DOWN SOFA…I GOT THE BLUE-GREEN-GRAY VELVET FABRIC AT UFAB IN CHARLOTTESVILLE!LIVING ROOM PAINTED BENJAMIN MOORE CLASSIC GRAY. SLIP COVERED SOFA IS FROM POTTERY BARN. BOWL IS A MISSONI FOR TARGET SCORE FROM 2011.I USED PRIMARILY GOLD, WHITE, AQUA AND PINK IN MY DECOR WITH THE BLUE-GREEN-GRAY SOFA.My husband and I inheriting this chair from his Grandmother…hence it’s name- “GRAM”S CHAIR”…It has been reupholstered 5 times and in this incarnation is a PINK VELVET that Phoebe and I chose on our trip to MOOD FABRICS in New York. We had a whole bunch of fun photos of us that day…playing in the fabric, being silly…and that was the day I lost my phone…with the photos…so we will rely on our memories of that fun fun day!
The dresser is painted Benjamin Moore “Calypso Blue”…
“Amethyst” is one of my newest paintings…I love her, we call her “AMY”Wide view of closed pocket doors which lead to the kids living room. I love balance and symmetry but I also love surprising bits of inequality…The center piece is the sofa….I had this sofa reupholstered for the second time (IT was brown velvet in the other living room) , this time in a soft blue/green/gray velvet with nailhead trim. My upholsterer – Tony, is a genius and so talented. This sofa ,which we originally got used for $200 – is a down sofa – and Charlie’s personal favorite.You may notice that my art and my photos are being hung on rods hung from the existing picture rail. I invested in the “hanging rods” for my paintings from a great online store called Walker Display. Many galleries do not allow nails in their walls and instead have picture rails and these rods make the installation process so easy. They are also good looking!!! They are made of fiberglass and come in white, gray and bronze. You buy the hardware all “a-la-carte” to accommodate what you will be hanging. I bought bronze but I spray painted these few Gold to work with the room decor…love them!!!I DECIDED TO simplify and eliminate the GALLERY wall behind the TV. I kept the “DRESS” painting…and love the results! ALSO LOVE THE gourd lamp spray painted gold!!!!OH! about the pillow! Tony made me 4 pillows from leftover curtain fabric from the other living room. This is the fabric I designed from one of my paintings..can you see the horse faces?You may also notice the super cute new Mint green lamps which I got from “ONE KINGS LANE” …WITH my LAMP AND MINT obsession..I DID NOT STAND A CHANCE!!!! I LOVE THEM…I looked today and they have ONE left!!!!THE NEWLY REPAINTED LIVING ROOM IN CLASSIC GRAY!!!!!!I got this mirror at a used furniture store, it was originally pink. I painted it with my trusty gold spray paint and love the way it pops against the soothing gray walls.This ROBERT ABBEY TRIPLE GOURD lamp originally had a aged silver base. I agonized of the decision to paint it, not wanting to ruin its’ integrity but I LOVE the way the white and Gold look together….this might be my new favorite color combination – white and gold!These curtains are the Martha Stewart “Faux Silk” in Rainwater from Home Depot. I just ordered a new pair for the dining room. They look so lovely and with the Tab back, hang beautifully.I love the way the light plays off the textures and colors.This MISSONI PENTAGON ottoman was originally from Target…I had Tony reupholster it in the same PINK VELVET “MOOD” fabric as “Grams Chair”….I DID NOT THINK THAT ANY COLOR WOULD MAKE ME AS HAPPY AS THE “PINK CLOUD” DID….BIT THE CLASSIC GRAY IS JUST THAT ….”CLASSIC”..AND SOOTHING AND COMPATIBLE WITH ALMOST ANY STYLE OF DECOR. I LOVE IT!!!

Thank you Ellen! I miss the Pink Cloud too and if we do not sell our house…might just paint it back! Or perhaps paint my Dining room Pink Cloud…
We are in the process of having the exterior issues addressed so we can get a good appraisal and then we will put the house n the market…though every day the house gets better…I think I want to stay…i have decided to let this ne play itself out…it would also be very nice to have kids in college and not be so financially stressed so if this home can help with that…we shall see.
