IT TOOK WEEKS and WEEKS..
to clean out the old sleeping porch. The room was piled ceiling high with STUFF…and lots of it…I thought it would take one day…I was oh so very wrong…but our perseverance paid off…My husband has become a pro at taking things to the new storage unit, we filled probably 20 bags with trash…and took 4 carloads filled with Habitat and Goodwill donations along with some curb side “FREE” stuff. It is exhausting coming face to face with 15 years of “things” …toys, favorites, books..so many books…school work, Pokemon cards, old journals….stories…memories…things tucked away…dolls, baby stuff, fabric…thousands of photos…wow.

THE FLOOR AND CEILING FOLLOW THE ROOFLINES AND ARE SLANTED…I SCREWED BLOCKS OF WOOD INTO THE TWO RIGHT LEGS OF THE BED…MAKING IT LEVEL.
But it is done and I got the room all ready for my Brother in law and niece who came for Thanksgiving. Ellie (age 5) immediately claimed it as her room and made herself right at home.
Out came the BABY DOLLS AND
American girl dolls and crayons and playing “school” and I was so incredibly happy to have the LIFE back in that room!!!

The only purchases for the room were some new pillows…everything else was recycled…
THE ROOM IS PAINTED BENJAMIN MOORE EDGECOMB GRAY

AND THE CEILING IS FANTASY BLUE

NOTE THIS SHUTTERS (WHICH BACKS UP TO THE KIDS BATHROOM) IS IN PERFECT CONDITION…UNLIKE THE REMAINDER OF THE SHUTTERS WHICH ARE NO LONGER…

THIS ROOM WAS A LABOR OF LOVE.
