THIS TIME OF YEAR – with the help of a little Claritin, I could LIVE outside. The temperature is perfect, the birds sing all day long, the flowers are blooming and the view is SO GREEN AND beautiful…only problem…I have no place to sit!
WE NEED PORCH FURNITURE!
THIS SET UP HAS SERVED US FOR YEARS BUT I AM READY FOR SOMETHING A BIT MORE…WELL..CUSHIONY!!!!
HERE ARE SOME INSPIRATION PHOTOS….
I KEEP GOING BACK TO THIS FURNITURE WHICH I THINK WOULD LOOK SO APPROPRIATE AND WELL, I JUST LOVE IT!
AM I CRAZY? WOULD IT BE TERRIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE? I JUST THINK IT IS SO CUTE AND LOOKS DURABLE AND MY PUPPY COULD NOT POSSIBLY CHEW THE LEGS OR RIP THE CUSHIONS AND THEN EAT THEM LEAVING SNOW SHOWERS OF FLUFF ALL OVER MY YARD AND MY HOUSE…….
DO YOU HAVE PORCH/OUTDOOR FURNITURE YOU LOVE ..OR HATE…WHAT DO YOU LIKE / RECOMMEND? THIS IS UNCHARTED TERRITORY FOR ME!
Hi! I have a vintage set like that. I love them, but I would suggest to get cushions!! I have seen cushions in the Grandin Road catalog…. They will be great on your porch!
yes, every review suggested cushions….I am prob 85% sure about the metal ones just have to look a bit more….and see about cushions, we are actually thinking because of the porch configuration of doing the sofa and the loveseat…which will make an “L” shape and then we have a great rocker to finish the grouping!
I love it! I think it will be perfect!
My mom has a vintage glider that has a bright fabric for the cushions, its super cute! You can see a picture of it at the bottom of this post http://www.familyrunningwild.com/2014/03/time-in-texas.html
Love it!!!
My advice? Go sit in it if you can! Love the look and get the whole ‘my puppy can’t chew it up’ thing. 🙂
I 100% concur with your advice…nothing better than a good old fashioned Butt test!
Lesli,
I am working too this, too… and you might have a similar constraint – tho, I think your front door is in the middle of your space,, while my doors are on the ends.
I am finding the problem is the depth of my porches…
Front porch is 6′ deep (6 x 25; but suable area of 6 x 15). It is so shallow, can only have a pair of rockers, side table and hutch. This is working pretty well for me.
Back porch is 8′ deep (8 x 30; usable space is more like 7.5 x 15, in one block, but after the screens are added, I cam probably use a bit more of the length)
I got some RH furniture – and will use it somewhere else, because the sofa (38″ deep), chairs (36″ deep) & coffee table are so deep – you can barely get into the seating. So, I am looking for porch furniture that is less deep, but still comfy. My sense of the porch sets I have looked at is that comfy means at least 36″ deep…
The other issue is driving rain. We have strong, driving rain storms, here in VA – so seating with fabrics – even sunbrella, outdoor cushions – need to be tucked in by the house (better view anyway), so that they are not soaking wet.
So, I am still looking….
I love those cute metal gliders, too!!
Sarah
Hey Sarah…I have GOT to get over to see YOUR farm! Sounds amazing! Which ones from RH did you get I need to check them out!
Lesli,
I’m not sure, off hand which ones they are… I got them at Leesburg outlet (YAY) – I can send picture… u still use email address I have (CWS days)? DO come over – any time. Free Latte! My cell same as always.
I want one! I think it is darling and I like how the back rest leans back a bit to allow you to relax when you sit down. I sat on the cutest bench at the garden store, but the back was so straight that I almost felt like I was leaning forward!
Me too Ann! Decisions Decisions!
In addition to Adirondack chairs with cushions we have a vintage glider like this on our screened porch. We put cushions on it and we love it but … it does need cushions!!
Porches are the best!
I love the color and vintage look of that porch furniture! After years of sitting on hard adirondack chairs, we got an RH sofa and chairs for our back deck last summer. We spend much more time out there now! They are so comfy… it’s like an outdoor living room. Good luck with your decision 🙂
