YOUNG HOUSE LOVE’S RICHMOND HOMEARAMA SHOWHOUSE IS OPEN!
I was so honored and flattered when my friends John and Sherry asked me if I would paint a portrait of their beloved little pooch BURGER…as a cheeky nod to their adorable little Chihuahua. The “BURGER” (remember the “KRAMER” from Seinfeld) figures prominently in the Living room decor. It sits above the fireplace where a television will eventually live.
The wall above and around the fireplace is painted a Benjamin Moore color called HALE NAVY.
I have used HALE NAVY a great deal…in my art work and other projects. It is a deep navy…which goes in the direction ever so very slightly towards green than purple if you know what I mean….and so far I have found few colors which do not soar in the presence of NAVY…think about it…
and my new favorite….
NAVY is a one of my favorite colors to decorate with…I am even a tad obsessed with it…and in my experience…a LITTLE goes a LONG way…I tend toward using navy as an ACCENT or as a pop of color, or like John and Sherry did here to offset other colors, help ART WORK shine or direct focus towards a spectacular piece of furniture…like Phoebe’s twin beds…
Stay tuned for more SHOWHOUSE HIGHLIGHTS…I have a more not yet seen PAINTINGS in the house that I cannot wait to share with you. In the meantime…lets take one more look at the Showhouse Living Room our Buddy Burger!
I used Hale Navy on a re-lacquered Parsons table, turned out beautiful! Love that color!
SOUNDS BEAUTIFUL! Thanks for sharing!
You are so talented! Love the painting of Burger!!!
Simply stunning and I love the colors!
