WEEK 1: INTRODUCE YOUR SPACE AND TELL US YOUR PLAN
PHOEBE’S BEDROOM MAKEOVER
TODAY I AM PAYING HOMAGE to one of my favorite rooms in the house…. occupied by my favorite girl in the world, my daughter Phoebe Holiday. When Phoebe was about to turn 13, she asked for a SURPRISE Makeover for her Birthday …of course , she barely finished the sentence and I was ON IT!.
For months I PLANNED THE MAKEOVER and secretly collected items to pull it all together. Finally, Phoebe went away on a 7th grade school field trip for the 3 days before her Birthday and I did the ENTIRE room, including painting the room, while she was away and did the BIG REVEAL when she got home!
NAVY AND PINK BEDROOM
THE ROOM WAS A HIT! Not only did Phoebe LOVE it…I entered her bedroom and won the Washington Post Kids Room Contest is 2012!!!!Her room was also featured in Susannah Salks 2014 Book “Decorate Fearlessly”!!!
Phoebe’s Navy and Pink Teen girl bedroom has been blogged about, featured in magazines, House crashed by Young House Love, Pinned and pasted and NOW..though it is hard to say goodbye, we are going to do a MAKEOVER!!!!
THIS ONE ROOM CHALLENGE MAKEOVER has been on the Horizon and was again inspired by Phoebe, who now, at almost 17 is ready for a NEW room…and this time she is taking part in most of the decision-making. I could not be more excited to have this last hurrah before her senior year of high school begins and … well, we are just not going there right now!…she has grown up too fast and ANY opportunity to spend more time together is a BONUS for me!

I do already miss this room – it was so cool! But I’m excited to see you guys work on this challenge. Good luck, and the ideas you’ve got already look great!
I am going to miss it too…very much…like I miss the little girl!
Must be bittersweet to say goodbye to that gorgeous room. But, i’m sure what you and Phoebe come up with will be fab!!
It is VERY Bittersweet! Thank goodness for photos. xo
This is going to be amazing!!! Looking forward to following along!

Oh! I remember this room and still love it just as much as when it was revealed. I’m sure Pheobe is so excited! This will be a beautiful sophisticated space for her. Best Wishes!

Thank you Abby! I am excited to get started!
Can’t wait to see all the changes you’re going to make. I have your daughter ‘s room at one of my Pinterest boards! I believe the new look will be stunning too:)
I hope you will want to pin this room too!!! Thanks so much!
While that pink and navy room looks like a super fun teen room, what you have planned is gorgeous. Can’t wait to see how it turns out. I’ll be sure to follow along!
Phoebe is so excited and I think it is going to be soooooo pretty!!!! We chose the wallpaper…just you wait!!!
Nice to see you back again. I love that room. My jealous daughter will be watching with me. Excited!
Thank you Linda! I am so excited to be a ink participant!
I’ve seen this room before and have always LOVED it. The new room will be very chic and so much fun for the two of you! I have a 17 year old daughter too, and would be thrilled to have a project like this!
Oh yes ma’am…this is going to be good! I loved her room before, but can’t wait to see it transform!
Thank you Cassie!!! xo
wow, that’s going to look so grown up and sophisticated. My daughter just turned 13 and she will be upgrading from preteen to teen. We’re getting rid of her bunk bed which she outgrew. Going quite bold as well, like your first design. If that room lasts 4 years, I’ll be happy. I can’t wait how your bedroom project is going to turn out.
Thank you Karolina! It os really coming together!
