— old country house blog — HAPPY EASTER – HAPPY SPRING April 5, 2015 …VERY VERY SOON – right in my own back yard…hidden by a giant Magnolia! JUST imagine my sheer delight when I very first rounded the corner and discovered THIS! Loveliest of trees, the cherry now Is hung with bloom along the bough, And stands about the woodland ride Wearing white for Eastertide. Now, of my threescore years and ten, Twenty will not come again, And take from seventy springs a score, It only leaves me fifty more. And since to look at things in bloom Fifty springs are little room, About the woodlands I will go To see the cherry hung with snow. A. E. I grew up right down the street, and we had these wonderful trees as well…..Japanese Cherry Trees. When the petals fell, it was like pink velvet carpet…….We would cut and take the big blossoms to our teachers at Greenwood School. Brings back such wonderful memories…………thanks and happy spring!
