AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK I GET AN EMAIL WITH A QUESTION ABOUT WHITE PAINT COLORS – AND IN PARTICULAR –
COOL VS WARM WHITES….
WARM WHITES HAVE WARM UNDERTONES…LIKE YELLOW AND SOMETIMES GREEN-ISH. THE ones with the green-ISH undertones – to ADD to the confusion – can go EITHER WARM or COOL depending on the amount of BLUE or Yellow in the GREEN! I get confused just writing that sentence.
But really…it can be MADE less confusing by COMPARISON. When in doubt about a white – get another white swatch and place it next to the WHITE you are considering. Does ONE white bring out the OTHER WHITES undertone?
Here are a few of my favorite WARM WHITES – starting with a WHITE I have used throughout our home…especially in the kitchen.
MOUNTAIN PEAK WHITE
Yay for Mountain Peak White! We had a cooler white with blue undertones that looked a little harsh. Now we have Mountain Peak White–I call it my cottage white and I love it. Don’t see it around too much but it is lovely in your home as well.
